HEMLOCK RIDGE

HUDSON VALLEY RIVER CAMP

This campsite sits at the highest point of the property and is surrounded by hemlock trees. Enjoy the view and private access to the Dwaar Kill below.

Details:

The Hemlock Ridge private campsite sits on a steep ridge overlooking the Dwaar Kill. From your perch, you can hear the rushing water and look out over the trees. You can plant your camp chair at the edge of a steep incline and look right out over the water with a roaring fire just behind you.

The site is an easy 15 to 20 minute walk from the parking area. You will cross the Dwaar Kill by a primitive bridge and continue up a gentle incline to your campsite.

From the main train, you will follow a private trail to your site. You can follow the main trail down to the Dwaar Kill and Shawangunk Kill for swimming or exploring.

Each campsite includes a stone firepit, a supply of firewood for a nominal fee and a portable camp toilet. We follow a carry in/carry out policy to minimize human impact on the forest.
